سلام دوستان من mysql 5.5.9 را دانلود کردم و برطبق مراحلش جلو رفتم تا نصبش کنم اما نمی دونم چه اتفاقی افتاد .
این توضیحات خود سایت mysql است که من بر طبقشون جلو رفتم

Alternatively you can run:
./bin/mysql_secure_installation

which will also give you the option of removing the test
databases and anonymous user created by default.  This is
strongly recommended for production servers.

See the manual for more instructions.

You can start the MySQL daemon with:
cd . ; ./bin/mysqld_safe &

You can test the MySQL daemon with mysql-test-run.pl
cd ./mysql-test ; perl mysql-test-run.pl

اگه از توزیع مبتنی بر redhat کار میکنید . مثل OpenSuSE , Fedora , RHEL , ... این دستور رو وارد کنید :

yum install mysql-server

البته توی OpenSuSE از این دستور هم می توانید استفاده کنید .

zypper install mysql-server

و اگه از توزیع های مبتنی بر Debian استفاده می کنید مثل : Debian , Ubuntu , Parsix , Mint , ....

من می خوام آخرین ورژن نصب بشه توی پکیج های دبیان فقط ورژن ۵.۱ است و آخرین ورژن mysql ۵.۹ است که لازمه نصب بشه

به نظر میاد که دو تا mysqld باهم اجرا هستند. مطمئن بشید که mysqld در حال اجرا نباشه وقتی دارید دوباره اون رو اجرا میکنید.
