Mounting and unmounting Floppy and CDROM in Fedora
[ltr]
hi friends I encountered a problem using my floppy and CDROM drives when I insert a CD in the drive fedora mounts it automaticly and everything is OK until my job is done and I want to eject the drive but it does'nt seem to be happy with what I want the eject button on the cd drive simply does'nt function as if it is not pressed when I right-click on CD Drive icon on my GNOME desktop and try to eject it by clicking on eject button it gives me an error and says : Natilus was unable to unmount the selected volume. and when I press details it says unmount: /mnt/cdrom: device is busy the only way i can unmount it is using the command : umount -l which is a lazy unmount and even after this the eject button does'nt function! the same problem occurs while using a floppy disk anybody got a clue :?: [/ltr] |

- check that you don't have the device open with nautilius or any other file browser and also an open file from that device in any programs !
- check permissions on the devices so that it is not only the root has the permission to mount/umount! good luck! |
